Wealth Management donates whiteboards
Wealth Management Limited (WML) as part of its corporate social responsibility through the WiseWater Foundation has donated white writing boards to two schools in the La Dadekotopon Constituency in Accra. The beneficiary schools are La St. Paul's KG Primary & JHS and La Enobal 2 KG Primary & JHS.
Presenting the boards, Mr. Emmanuel Quarshie, Chief Executive Officer of WML, said the company was moved by the plight of the teachers who hitherto used chalkboards and blackboards.
He said the inhalation of chalk dust has made the continual use of the chalk and the black board a health hazard to teachers.
Mr. Quarshie said the donation is a demonstration of the company's' commitment towards education as part of its CSR targeted at schools within its locality.
He said the government alone cannot fund education and called on other companies to emulate the Blackboard Replacement Project initiative.
Mr. Emmanuel Amarquaye, Executive Director of WiseWater, a non-governmental organisation which initiated the project, thanked the company for believing in it and supporting it.
He announced that many more companies have responded positively and are providing funds to support the project.
Present at the donation included Mrs. Charlotte Okai-Tettey, Head, Investments and Corporate Affairs, WML, and officials of both schools.
